DESCRIPTION:Messengers of Time and Space is a fulldome planetarium show fro
m NSF NOIRLab designed to illuminate the imminent revolution in astronomy
driven by time-domain and multi-messenger observations. This free\, immers
ive experience invites audiences to explore the dynamic cosmos and witness
the transformative impact of real-time data on our understanding of the U
niverse.\n\n \n\nModern astronomical surveys\, like the upcoming Rubin Obs
ervatory Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST)\, will detect up to 10 mil
lion changes in the sky every night\, with alerts generated within minutes
. Yet\, many of these alerts will require additional observations to under
stand the physical phenomena. Observatories providing this critical follow
-up must become capable of responding quickly and efficiently. With the ne
w improvements provided by the GEMMA project\, Gemini will become a global
leader in these follow-up observations\, able to study the faintest\, hig
hest-priority targets.\n\n \n\nThe planetarium show highlights how Gemini
will work together with observatories that monitor the night sky for excit
ing astronomical events that change with time\, like Rubin Observatory. So
metimes\, light is not the only indicator of these short-term events. Audi
ences will learn how information can reach us through other messengers lik
e cosmic rays\, elusive particles called neutrinos\, and even gravitationa
l waves rippling through the Universe.\n\n \n\nThe show runs approximately
  29 minutes long \n\nRecommended for Grades 4-12+\, Ages 10-18 + General A
udience\n\n \n\nSpace is limited and each attendee must register for their
ticket individually. Tickets are free and open to the public. If you have
  questions\, contact stemoutreach@emporia.edu.
